The AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ: The DJ's Caviar
While the central recipe remains untouched (an enormous cockpit crammed with control elements for carving out hair-raising drops and transitions), what you're dealing with here is a far cry from the old-school two decks and a mixer setup. This unit essentially puts an enormous computer and media player in your hands, fully equipped with all of the perks and extras that go into building ecstatic sets. The comparison to a computer makes sense, since a wide 10.1 inch touch display screen has been planted at the top of the control panel for good measure, and that's alongside the on-board WiFi receiver for linking up directly with CloudDirectPlay and Beatport.
The AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ can be connected to USB devices or used as an expansive controller for Rekordbox or Serato DJ Pro. Via ProDJ-Link, a set of CDJ-3000 players can be hooked up and, via one of the two fitted USB ports you can easily record entire sets. This model even features an integrated SonicLink transmitter, so a set of SonicLink compatible headphones can be connected cable-free giving you the ultimate freedom to move around.
