Here, Mackie have homed in on the elements that other podcasting and broadcasting mixers have left out and, in the form of the Mackie DLZ | Creator, offer up the ultimate solution. For a start, this mixer features an extra-large touch screen that grants access to a clear and easily navigated interface, and this has been surrounded by a bank of full-sized faders and tactile buttons. Up to four sets of headphones can be plugged in at the same time, each with their own independent mix bus - which is immediately a more-than-welcome tweak, and to help configure the desired broadcasting setup, a software-based Mix Agent™ wizard comes pre-loaded in to guide you through the specifics. Simply select one of three workflows, each of which offer more or less options depending on how much work you want to do manually and how much you want to leave to the Mix Agent. With the Mackie DLZ | Creator you can record directly to a USB stick or SD card on location; record directly to a PC or Mac in the studio; or set the unit up to serve as your live streaming interface.
