In 2013, Takamine expanded the G-Series with a collection of acoustic basses, including the Takamine GB30CE electro-acoustic bass. This stage-ready model comes furnished with a solid spruce soundboard and features a gracefully rounded Venetian-style cutaway in the lower bout that allows smooth note navigation all the way up to the twenty-first fret. Meanwhile, superior onboard electronics ensure sublime amplified sound.

The combination of the body shape, mahogany back and sides and spruce soundboard result in deep and richly complex, natural tone that's comparable with the quality of sound of more expensive models. The neck has also been made from mahogany, bound to the body via a dovetail joint to boost resonance, and comes finished with a comfy 16 inch radius laurel fretboard while a set of sealed oil-bed machine heads firm up the tuning and an inlaid abalone soundhole rosette polish of the classic yet deluxe look.

The TK-40B Preamp + On-Board Tuner

The high-end electronics load-out combines a built-in pickup and Takamine's very own and very versatile TK-40B preamp. Via the subtle, side-mounted control panel, you'll find a Gain pot to regulate the output volume and a detailed three-band EQ section that can also be bypassed as preferred, a Mid-Shift control pot and even a Bass-Boost switch. For simple pitch-control without having to stare at your feet mid-set, Takamine has also spared space for an on-board tuner complete with a clearly lit LED display.
