Ibanez offer the SR505E: a classically shaped 5-string bass offering both active full-range fatness and classic passive warmth depending on the setting of the fitted EQ bypass switch. When set to passive, the result can be shaped using the volume and balance pots while the treble boost/cut pot acts as the tone control. In either setting, the pair of Bartolini BH2 soapbar pickups ensure that the full acoustic sound of this bass is amplified with a balanced clear high-end and prominent bottom.

When the active Ibanez Custom Electronics preamplifier is kicked in, the bass, mid, and treble can be thickened or thinned as needed and a detailed mid-frequency switch offers the choice of 250, 450 or 700 Hz. Soundgear Series basses have always made sure to offer highly adaptable tone without putting a back-breaking lump of a bass in your arms. As such, the SR505E has a familial lightweight and slim, rounded form and a bridge fitted with string saddles that can be adjusted by up to 1.5mm in every direction for detailed customisation of the string-spacing and personalised comfort for your playing hand.
