Ernie Ball Music Man has polished up and refined the iconic StingRay Special to deliver an ultra-modern bass backed up a snug and solid playing feel. The contouring of the solid ash body is more pronounced to raise comfort and lighten the overall weight, while the lightweight-tapered machine heads ensure outstanding balance.
The StingRay4 Special: The Details
The roasted maple neck has been secured with five bolts for maximum stability and the heel has been softly rounded for smooth access to the highest of the 22 stainless-steel frets. Mounted with a potent Neodymium humbucker backed up by the thick, solid output and extra headroom provided by an 18V active preamp complete with three-band EQ, this bass is anything but one-sided. Warm and round to powerful punch, this level of sonic versatility is only matched by the butter-smooth playability of the special oil-and-wax blend coating that's been applied to the back of the roasted maple neck. This pro-grade instrument comes complete with a case.
