The Crimson II 9-piece drum kit by Alesis has two 12-inch cymbal pads with choke function and a 14-inch triple-zone ride cymbal. It also features a 12-inch hi-hat and includes a DMHat hi-hat pedal. In terms of drum pads, you've got a 12-inch dual-zone snare on a stand, two dual-zone 8-inch rack toms, a 10-inch dual-zone floor tom and an 8-inch bass drum pad at your disposal. The Crimson II module offers 671 samples and 54 pre-programmed kits.
Crimson II Drum Module
The Crimson II would be nothing without a module for customising the sound of your kit. As well as pre-programmed kits, you can create and save 20 kits of your own and even add your own sounds by loading WAV samples into the module via a USB stick (sold separately). Assign the samples to the pad of your choice then play along with the 120 built-in tracks or make use of the aux input to playback music from your mobile device or MP3 player. There's also a metronome function to help keep time while you record in your own sessions.
Connectors
On the rear of the module, you'll find several connection options such as a mini jack headphone socket and a stereo jack line output, so you can use headphones or plug into an amp. You can also connect the Crimson II to a Mac or PC via the USB MIDI connection and use the kit as a MIDI controller to record directly in your DAW. This already extensive kit can also be expanded further by adding an extra tom or cymbal pad (not included).

De Alesis Crimson II is een prachtig drumstel dat wordt geleverd met een stevig rack. De mesh heads zorgen voor een lekker speelgevoel dat vergelijkbaar is met een akoestisch drumstel. Het hoorbare omgevingsgeluid van de mesh heads is zachter dan de rubberpads. Alle onderdelen zijn prima afgewerkt. De drummodule heeft heel veel mogelijkheden die ik nog niet allemaal heb ontdekt. Ik weet zeker dat ik nog vele jaren plezier zal hebben van mijn Crimson II. Echt een aanrader!
