Mapex Saturn V MH TW Transparent Walnut: rock shell set

Now that the hybrid Saturn V drum kit also has these fancy bearing edges, both its sound and its tuning range have been greatly improved due to the fact that the drumhead makes better contact with the shell.

This rock-oriented shell set comes in a Transparent Espresso Walnut finish and consists of a 22 x 18" bass drum, 10 x 8" and 12 x 9" toms, and a 16 x 16" floor tom. The 6-ply tom shells and the 8-ply bass drum shell are made of maple and walnut, a combination that ensures a bright sound with a nice balance of mids and lows. Bright-sounding and highly focused toms, a fat floor tom, and the bass drum's balanced punch allow you to clearly cut through the mix!

Toms

Besides the SONIClear bearing edges, the Mapex MXSV529C-TW Saturn V also features the SONIClear Tom Suspension system. As this system ensures minimal contact with the shells, the toms can resonate freely and the resulting vibrations largely stay confined within the shells and drumheads themselves. This kit also comes with two TH800 tom holders. The bass drum is fitted with isolating claw hooks and a rubber lining to reduce the chance of them damaging the hoops, or coming loose and rattling as you play.
