With the Tama Starclassic WBS52RZS five-piece, you're not just getting the warm tone and defined attack of a set of walnut and birch hybrid shells, but the bigger sound of an extra floor tom on the side. The smart shell construction combines American black walnut with European birch to ensure a balanced and focussed response wrapped in tonal warmth, where the walls of both the toms and floor toms combine five layers of birch with two inner layers of walnut to complete a 6mm profile, while the bass drum features a slightly thicker five-ply layer of birch to complete an 8mm wall. For that stage-worthy flair, each shell also comes in a Satin Purple Atmosphere Fade lacquered finish.

The Tama WBS52RZS Starclassic W/B Shell Set

The pack includes a 22 inch by 16 inch kick drum next to a 10 inch by 7 inch and 12 inch by 8 inch rack tom and a 14 inch by 12 inch and 16 inch by 14 inch floor tom. The hanging toms have been kitted out with the Tama-developed Star-Cast Mounting System, so they can be combined with the two included MC69 tom mounts and suspended from compatible cymbal stands (not included), allowing the shells to resonate freely. Each drum has also been kitted out with a set of Starclassic lugs and Die-Cast hoops and both floor toms come with a set of legs, so this shell set can help build a formidable and versatile kit.
