The Rycote Super-Shield windshield kit is a lightweight solution to preventing wind and other unwanted noises from getting captured. It's suitable for any shotgun microphone between 200 and 250 mm. The Super-Shield is easy to use and makes use of aerodynamics for excellent results and even weight distribution. It features the patented Lyre shock mount system, which is highly effective in eliminating contact noise. The furry Windjammer is also removable. The windshield itself consists of two parts, both of which attach to the central portion, thus ensuring the mic is covered entirely.

Heel stevige blimp met windscherm. Heb er op dit moment een 'Sennheiser ME 66' in zitten.
Het heeft me heel wat moeite gekost om de mic vast te klemmen. De positie van de richtmicrofoon is bijzonder gemakkelijk aan te passen en stevig aan te draaien.
De blimp zelf is al voldoende om lichte luchtverplaatsingen uit de microfoon te halen. Eens het gaat stormen is het grijze bontje een bijzondere hulp. De zogenaamde 'Lyre suspension' cancelt dan weer niet alle handling noise uit. Hier had ik meer van verwacht maar het is een kwestie van de boom goed vast te houden.

Ik gebruik hem vooral in combinatie met de MKH 416 voor het opnemen van documentaires, een prima match met deze windshield.
Dit model is wat goedkoper dan andere windshields van Rycote en dat komt vooral door het ontbreken van de connbox, die een groot deel van de handeling noise van de boompole opvangt. Als je enige ervaring hebt met een perche zou dit wel geen probleem mogen zijn.
Deze windshield voelt overigens stevig en betrouwbaar aan, en ook de windjammer is van goede kwaliteit.
