The Schlagwerk La Ola Drum is a one-of-a-kind percussive instrument that produces a sound that falls somewhere between a conga, bongo, and cajon but is something entirely different. The unique La Ola is actually very musical for a percussive instrument, and as such, can be taken in any direction. The wooden sound is naturally characteristic of the cajon, but the warm roundness is similar to a conga. The shape of this drum also provides two distinctly different notes (and more in between that can be found as you get to know it), giving it a multi-tonality similar to a set of bongos. The LO70BR La Ola can be mounted in a snare stand or comfortably played on your lap due the nicely curved and concave shaping of the body, and it also comes with a playing strap and a made-to-measure gig bag.

MultiClap

To pull even more percussive variety out of this instrument, Schlagwerk have thrown in a couple of extras, including a MultiClap. This small, humble seeming wenge-widget is mounted to - and easily removed from - the playing surface of the La Ola via a simple fastening strip. Once mounted, you get a satisfying staccato effect comparable to a set of castanets.

Buzzboard

As if you don't already have enough, the La Ola Drum also comes with a Buzzboard: a birch box fitted with twelve internal snare wires that when struck, results in sound like a side snare or short shaker. Just like the MultiClap, the Buzzboard can be easily mounted and removed using a fastening strip.
