Combined with a push/pull volume and a push/pull tone pot, the two fitted Fishman Fluence Classic Open Core humbuckers offer not three but nine base sounds to choose from thanks to the three different voicings these active pickups have been loaded with. The first voicing brings out that classic PAF-style sound, while the second setting gives you vintage hot-rod tone from the bridge pickup and a custom sound from the neck pickup that's characterised by bright highs, lilting mids and tight lows. The third voicing serves up a sparkling single-coil sound in the neck position while the bridge humbucker sounds like a slightly over-wound single-coil. Add it all up and it's safe to say that the ESP LTD Viper-1000 can be taken in any style-based direction.
