- Fazley FSB418BK Headless Electric Guitar (Black)
Fazley FSB418BK Headless Electric Guitar (Black)
Descrizione
Definitive and definitely of its time, this ode to a retro classic comes loaded with a pair of humbuckers and ready to take on fierce rock and solid pop. The stripped-down Fazley FSB418 headless guitar may look complicated, but as long as you have a pack of double ball-ended strings, they're easily secured at the nut and bridge and tuned up at the base of the double-locking tremolo bridge. Simple and stylish.
The FSB418 Headless Electric Guitar: Fully Focused
The basswood chopping-block body has been fitted with a set-in maple neck to finish the look and balance the foundation sound, while a pair of fat humbuckers, a three-way switch and volume and tone control pot sets you up with everything you need to dial in that unmistakable progressive pop sound of the '80s, or that unique alt-funk flavour. The headless six-string Fazley FSB418 is built for maximum freedom of movement, leaving you fully focussed on the sound and free to bust some moves.

I'm an experienced luthier, and if I'm honest bought this with the intention of stripping it, refinishing and replacing the electronics. From that point-of-view, it's a bargain, and great value.
But beware: as others have said, it wasn't playable out of the box. The headstock mechanism doesn't hold the strings down onto the zero fret (so it isn't tunable), and the tremelo needs to be permanantly locked, because the floating mechanism isn't stable enough. I fabbed a piece out of fret wire to fix the headstock, and may well change the bridge entirely (I also re-fretted it, because they were a mess). I've got high hopes of it being great when finished, but it'll have taken some work.
I bought this guitar because I wanted a headless example in my collection. A small guitar to easily sit on my lap & play whilst watching TV etc. Unfortunately the headstock has been poorly fitted. I had to put a pin under the bottom E string to force it down onto the nut fret. The whole assembly doesn't sit right. The key supplied to adjust the intonation is too small. Intonation on the 2nd octave cannot ever be achieved because the fret is in the wrong position. The locking fixture for the tremelo is poor. There are cheaper "B" stock examples of this instrument & I am wondering if I have been sent one. This should never have passed the QA as top quality. To sum up.. don't buy this guitar if it is a first timer for a young person etc. Mine cost £125 in the sales. I feel sorry for anyone spending £260 on one.
