The Fender Custom Shop have built the Vintage Custom 1962 Strat like a time machine to put truly authentic mid-20th century sound and feel in the hands of 21st century guitarists. From the 2019 collection, this slice of music history has a body sculpted from two pieces of specially selected ash, that's then been coated in an NOS lacquer that gives the wood room to breathe and mature, before being mounted with Closet Classic hardware. This new-born classic comes complete with a deluxe case, strap, and certificate of authenticity.

The Vintage Custom 1962 Strat: Unrivalled Playability

Rift-sawn maple has been used to shape the neck and comes with a tried-and-true 1963 C-profile that lends itself comfortably to any playing style. The flat-lam maple fretboard has a snug feeling compound radius that graduates from a rotund 7.25-inches at the nut to a more modern 9.5-inches at the body. 21 medium vintage frets combine with the fretboard for near-flawless string grip and the kind of buttery playability that you'll never want to put down. To finish, the flash-coat laquer has been given a brilliantly subtle tint.
