This Fender Artist series red Strat is Eric Clapton's signature model. Clapton needs almost no introduction as the legendary singer and blues guitarist of classic bands like the Yardbirds and Cream. The Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster was based on his famous Blackie Strat from the '50s. However, this modern edition is equipped with the extremely quiet Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups, the versatile TBX tone control and an active mid-boost circuit. This is the Torino Red edition that comes with a vintage-style tweed case.

Body and neck of the Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster

This beautiful electric guitar has an alder body that is lightweight and produces a balanced tone with rich mids. The neck of the Eric Clapton Stratocaster was made of one piece of maple, providing this guitar with bright bites in the trebles. Mister Slow Hand himself preferred a modern 9.5-inch fretboard radius and 22 vintage-sized frets. Like Eric Clapton's personal guitar, this guitar's vintage-style tremolo is locked, as the guitarist is supposed to use his fingers to create those well-known vibrato effects.

TBX tone control and mid-boost

The Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster sets itself apart from other Strats by its highly versatile electronics. Beneath the first tone knob there hides the TBX tone control, consisting of a 250 kOhm and 1 MegOhm potentiometer stacked on top of each other. In position 0 to 5, this'll function as a normal passive tone control to filter out the trebles. In position 5 to 10, however, a purer sound with clearer basses and trebles is produced. The knob that is usually the second tone knob is now the mid-boost that allows you to adjust the mids up to +25dB, making even single-coil pickups sound like fat humbuckers. Ideal for solos!
