It's back in the picture, the 7-string acoustic guitar by Ibanez. The AEL207E-TKS is a steel-string electro-acoustic western guitar with an extra low B string. This is ideal if you want to catch those low, deep tones and to let chords that are higher on the neck sound fuller. The AEL series has the largest body dimensions of all Ibanez western guitars and as a result, it has a very rich acoustic sound and impeccable sound projection. When plugged in, the AEL207 provides you with a wide range of sounds with excellent transparency thanks to the Fishman electronics.
Features of the Ibanez AEL207E
This jumbo among the Ibanez western guitars has a body made of maple and its top has a beautiful flamed maple finish. This wood type is known for its clarity and bright sound and combines perfectly with the deep sound of the extra large body and the sweet warmth of the mahogany neck. The looks of this guitar leave nothing to be desired as the transparent black body and neck have been elegantly decorated with contrasting white bindings and a nice pearloid rosette. With a set of gold-plated self-lubricating machine heads you can keep the seven strings perfectly in tune.
Ibanez SST Shape Shifter preamp
The electric heart of the AEL207E consists of a powerful Fishman Sonicore pickup in combination with Ibanez's SST Shape Shifter preamplifier. This preamp provides you with volume control, a 3-band EQ and a Shape control with which you can adapt the tone control. With the phase button you can easily reduce unwanted feedback on stage. The icing on the cake is the built-in, digital chromatic tuner. And last but not least, there is an XLR output next to the 6.3 jack, so you can directly connect your guitar to a PA setup.

Ik wilde eens iets anders, ik speel al 40 jaar gitaar en dit leek een nieuwe uitdaging.
Ik heb deze gitaar op zicht besteld vanwege de aantrekkelijke prijs.
Ik kwam deze gitaar ergens anders online 60,- goedkoper tegen en Bax-shop heeft de prijs aangepast.
Dat was dus een meevaller, echter de gitaar valt een beetje tegen.
De lage extra B snaar klinkt erg mat, ondanks de nieuwe snaren. Wat heel erg wennen is, is dat de bovenste snaar de extra B is en niet de normale E. Dat maakt het in het begin erg lastig. Maar okee, daar ga je wel aan wennen, kwestie van veel spelen.
De gitaar speelt soepel, maar het geluid is heel dun. Voor akkoorden kan het er nog mee door, maar om met fingerstyle te gebruiken is het allemaal te iel en te vlak. Ik heb de gitaar geretourneerd en wacht nu op een Recording King.
