The Wampler Ratsbane serves to prove just how colossal a mini-pedal can sound. This stompbox takes the distortion of the legendary Rat and throws in some welcome versatility. Open up the Distortion pot to immerse your guitar sound in full saturation or dial it down to give the sound a light coat of overdrive. This Wampler distortion box can be powered using a standard 9 Volt power supply, but when you hook it up to a compatible 18 Volt power supply, you gain the full brutal spectrum.

The Wampler Ratsbane: Big Distortion, Full Control

According to Brian Wampler himself, you only start bringing out the true character of this distortion pedal when you start tweaking the Filter pot. Turned all the way to the left, the Ratsbane spits tight and modern clarity and, turned all the way to the right, you get a more warm and vintage, cream-filled guitar sound framed by just the right amount of definition. Meanwhile, the Gain mini-switch toggles between two gain levels, so if you still don't have enough you can always add some more and, to ensure full control no matter the gain level, a Voice mini-switch has also been supplied.
