The American-made Wampler Tumnus stompbox houses the same legendary sound as the much sought-after Centaur overdrive box of old, but here, it comes in a tight format that takes up minimal board space, and even demands far less of your hard earned cash than a second-hand Centaur. Just like the original, this is one mega-flexible overdrive and booster pedal.

The Wampler Tumnus: No Clone, All Replica

The Tumnus can definitely be set up on its own to add a sweet edge of overdrive to your clean sound, but when teamed up with a distortion pedal, it can help give your sound an extra kick or give an already overdriven amplifier that extra boost. Via the set of three control pots, you can easily find your desired Drive level, adjust the brightness via the Treble pot and set the effect output volume to hammer your custom overdrive into shape and, because the clean operation of the original Centaur was another big plus, the Tumnus can also be planted anywhere in the effects chain thanks to the buffered bypass circuit.
