The ATD-M by Meinl is a traditional African Talking Drum of medium size. The drum owes its name to the fact that it can approximate the tone and prosody of the human voice. This brown and black drum is carved from a solid piece of mahogany, that was grown on a special plantation, and has been beautifully decorated. The drumheads that you will find on either ends of this drum are made of hand-selected goatskin and you play it with your hands or the included wooden beater. Either way, it has a unique sound.
A wide range of tones
The goatskin drumheads are traditionally tightened with HTP nylon ropes. The ropes run all the way around the drum and goes up and down the shell a number of times. This leaves some room between the shell and the rope. By placing this under your arm and squeezing it, you can tighten the drumheads. That way you gain access to a wide variety of tones, and a unique sound.

Erg blij met deze mooie drum. Draagt lekker licht. En het geluid is mooi. Ik viel er echt mee op tijdens een evenement. De klopper past er ook mooi bij. Misschien handig om die eerst in te tapen met washitape voor wat extra stevigheid. Je weet maar nooit als je wild doet, kan hij misschien breken. Heb nogal gevoelige handjes en deze drum is dus perfect want ik kan gewoon een stok gebruiken.
