Made to keep fans of EDM and synth-pop busy for days, the extensive Erica Synths Perkons HD-01 drum machine offers up four tracks where each track comes with synthesizer parameters and an x0x-style steptime sequencer. What's awesome about the HD-01 is that the synth parameters can be recorded and made part of the sequence. So, unlike drum machines that offer individual tracks for your open and closed hi-hat sounds, the HD-01 basically offers a single track for your hi-hat which you can open and close by tweaking the decay parameter at the right moments and recording the sound. This is just a single example - parameters other than decay can also be recorded, making the Erica Synths Perkons HD-01 a fantastic hands-on drum machine that serves up a much, much broader palette of sounds than you'd expect at first glance.
