Everybody is soothed by the sounds of the sea, and with this Sea Drum, Meinl has succeeded in perfectly recreating that sound using innovative techniques and high-quality materials. The shell of the FD22SD, for instance, is made of rubberwood and it features a hand-selected goatskin drumhead.

The unique sound of the African Brown Sea Drum is produced by small metal balls that are enclosed between the two drumheads. Because one head is made of synthetic material and the other of goat skin, you can choose between different timbres. Furthermore, you can determine the number of balls you want to use thanks to the sealable filling port, so you will always have the desired sound at the right volume.
