If you want to record a live act or concert in stereo, you can choose to place two microphone alongside one another. You don't have to, however, as you can also just use this VP88 microphone! This stereo condenser microphone is perfect for use in professional studios, live productions and TV and radio broadcasts. It combines two condenser cartridges in a single housing, in order to allow for a nice stereo image. The VP88 is unique in that it can easily record live events.

The VP88 operates via a mid-side configuration. This means that the microphone has two small ones in it, of which one is placed in the middle and one further to the side. The microphone in the middle has a cardioid pickup pattern so that it can pick up all the sound at the front, the other microphone is bi-directional and picks up sound at the sides. The VP88 picks the sound up from 40 Hz to 20 kHz and a low-frequency filter ensures that you aren't bothered by mechanical and handling noise. To further make sure that handling noise isn't an issue, Shure have built-in an internal shockmount, including a pop filter. Everything has been thought of to ensure good stereo recordings!
