The high-tech circuitry in Allen & Heath's ZED-24 live PA mixer is the result of decades of experience in audio development and innovation. Inputs and outputs

In terms of connection options, the ZED-24 offers 16 mono mic/line inputs and 4 stereo channels, each with its own stereo jack input and the possibility to add extra stereo channels via the phono inputs or USB. The mono channels are ideal for use with microphones or DI boxes with large bands, for instance. Each input has its own gain controls. What's more, the ZED-24 has 4 aux sends, of which 1 and 2 are prefaders and suitable for monitor use. 3 and 4 are post-faders, which are ideal for effects sends. A stereo signal can be sent from the aux via USB to your computer, and then split into two separate recording signals, depending on the LR main mix (1&2) and effect sends (3&4).

Preamps

The products in the ZED series are equipped with the innovative DuoPre preamplifier, which uses two stages. When the signal comes in from an XLR input, you've got an enormous -69dB gain range at your disposal, which is equally distributed for better control and enables you to amplify the weakest signals as optimally as possible. When using the line-level input, the dual stage is used to keep unwanted noise to a minimum.

EQ

If you want to adjust your sound, there's a 3-band EQ, MusiQ and a Mid control with optimised adapter (Q factor) to fine-tune individual instruments. There's also an HF and LF knob with Boost function. In terms of construction, the ZED-24 is built to last. All the rotary knobs on the front panel are mounted with metal brackets. Finally, the ZED-24 is also equipped with professional 100mm faders.
