For over a decade, the Roland SPD-SX has been a must-have for any professional and creative drummer, and now, in response to user feedback, Roland present the next level end-boss of the sampling-pad-verse with the SPD-SX PRO. Tweaked, enhanced and improved on all sides, the PRO raises the reliability, the sound quality, the level of creativity, and even the game of the included software to complete a highly impressive sampler that's been fully set up for the performing musician. Team it up with the free Editor App and gain access to the 1,550 internal sounds, 200 ready-made kits, extensive sample editing and layering options, and plenty more.
Maximum Dependability
To aid navigation on a dark stage, each pad has been divided by a colour-coded LED strip, and the colour and light mode can be customised to further improve visibility. The multi-coloured 4.3 inch menu screen has also been enlarged and the buttons and control knobs are now backlit, so you're not just getting improved control over the performance, but the days of fumbling around in the dark to flip through patches or tweak effects are over. Thankfully, the sensitivity of the three shoulder pad triggers has also been raised so they respond more consistently no matter the angle of the strike.
Sound Quality & Creativity
While the SPD-SX was largely dependent on the internal sound quality, the SPD-SX PRO offers much more support. Internally, this next-gen sampler pad works with a 48 kHz and 16 bit audio resolution, but will also work seamlessly with other audio formats and will even correct them internally, so there's no longer any need to convert samples to ensure the correct resolution. Next to that, the balanced Master and Direct outputs deliver a cleaner and clearer signal, even when bridging wider distances, and extra outputs can be routed and assigned via the software to give the sound engineer more options. To finish, this pad features an internal audio/MIDI interface that supports eight channel recording and twelve channel playback.

super fijne sample pad. de 8 trigger-ins zijn perfect voor de optimale uitbreiding. perfect voor drummers zoals ik.
goede toepassing voor drummers met elektrisch/akoestisch drumstel.
Wat kan ik zeggen …. Gewoon de beste (sample) pad van Roland en wellicht van de hele industrie. Wel wat aan de dure kant vind ik.
Ik heb al een SPD/s en SX gehad. De SX enige tijd geleden verkocht, maar … nu dus de SX-Pro aangeschaft.
Geluidskwaliteit is geweldig.. Ik ben geen drummer (toetsen, gitaar, bas, producer), vind de pads lekker spelen, werkt voor mij om naast de (te) strakke midi gestuurde drums een personal feel te geven
Vind wel jammer/zonde, dat er geen microfoon direct kan worden aangesloten. Kan wel bij de SPD/s en SX
Roland listened to what users want and this corrects al the problems of the previous versions. I wanted to use this as a small portable kit, and it now has the hi-hat input as well as expanded inputs for other pads. The app really helps so you can transfer samples quickly and easily in a drag and drop way now. Pads play very nicely and the build is what you expect from Roland. In-built sounds are surprisingly good and the effects are often very good too. So many options to tailor your sound and an in-built sequencer. Obviously way more expensive than the very similar Alesis Strike multipad, however I feel it is worth the extra money as my experience with Alesis in the past is that you never know when their stuff is going to break and they don't update their products at all. Ultimately you get what you pay for. This Roland pad is a joy to play and use.
Een flinke upgrade ten op zichte van de Roland SPD-SX! De bijgeleverde app is een prima hulpmiddel om de configuratie van de SPD-SX Pro in te regelen (inladen samples, configuratie outputs, tempo, etc.). Daarnaast ben ik door de extra aansluitingen op het podium verlost van extra midi-apparatuur om meer triggers te kunnen gebruiken en zijn de output mogelijkheden een stuk uitgebreider dan bij de SPD-SX. Zo is bij de Pro bijvoorbeeld een heel stuk eenvoudiger om tracks qua output te scheiden van clicktracks én (drum) samples.

As such, the all-new SPD-SX PRO is a direct response to user feedback, and since it does everything that the OG did but does it even better, Roland have basically dropped the new end-boss of the sampling pad universe.
