While virtual, the u-he Colour Copy delay is firmly based on the BBD-principle - otherwise known as the Bucket Brigade Device principle - directly referencing fire fighting civilians who would form a chain so that buckets could be steadily passed along and thrown onto the flames. Which is fitting, since this kind of delay basically works in the same way by delaying the signal in a chain of little 'buckets'. u-he also go to the trouble of including an LFO so that chorus and flanger effects can be carved out - which is probably what the Colour Copy is most famed for. Another sweet detail is the ducking feature; a kind of compressor which can be commanded to treat the whole delay signal or just the feedback. Besides that, the old-school style control panel provides adjustable feedback-path saturation so you can really play around with the colour. In short, this is a warm and fluffy tweakable delay and chorus and an unmissable addition to your effects arsenal.
