Descrizione
The Aclam Windmiller preamp is based on the Grampian Reverberation Unit (Type 636 S/N: 1138) that none other than Pete Townsend from The Who once deployed to give his Marshall amplifiers an extra shove. This stompbox-housed preamp can be set up as an 'always-on' pedal to coat your sound in rich character and colour, or it can be set up to serve as a hefty solo boost. This versatile tone-tool can also be used to give the natural overdrive of a valve-based amplifier a nice push.
The Windmiller Preamp: Even Better, Even Quieter
The vintage Grampian was notorious for making a lot of unwanted noise, which Aclam have managed to overcome; retaining the original sonic character while keeping any buzz and hum to an absolute minimum. Another sweet little detail is the overload indicator, which reacts to your playing dynamics and brightens the harder you hit the strings. A love-letter to classic tone, the Aclam Windmiller sounds good no matter what amp or pickups you couple it up with and is fully compatible with basses, synthesizers, and keyboards, as well as electric guitars.
