Fender have managed to make their best-selling guitar even better. The American Standard Telecaster has been fitted with Custom Shop pickups and a comfortable body contour. This curve on the back of the body will ensure that you're no longer bothered by rib-poking body edges. Also, Fender replaced the Blizzard Pearl colour with the fancy Jade Pearl Metallic. The new lacquer, in combination with the rosewood fretboard make that this American Standard Telecaster looks just like those tough, aged Lake Placid Blue Teles from the sixties. Both the hardware and the neck have been modified to meet the standards of the modern guitarist. This guitar comes with a rugged case, guitar strap, instrument cable and polishing cloth.

Versatile Tele with Custom Shop pickups and Delta Tone

A characteristic feature of the American Standard Telecaster is the addition of a set of Custom Shop pickups: a Broadcaster in the bridge position and a Twisted Tele near the neck. The bridge pickup produces that authentic Tele sound: neat and clear with a fierce bite. The neck pickup, however, provides more of a Stratocaster-like feel. It produces a fatter sound with more output than a traditional Tele single-coil thanks to the longer alnico 5 magnets from a Jazz Bass and its new nickel silver cover. And then, there's the Delta Tone circuit that features a tone potentiometer that functions as any other ordinary potentiometer in positions 0 to 9, but takes itself out of the circuit with a click just before you reach position 10. This results in the pure sound of the pickups, only the pickups and nothing other than the pickups, so help your output and the trebles.

Modern embodiment of a timeless classic

Even though they have a high regard for tradition, Fender often apply the latest technology to make their guitars sound and play even better. The neck of this American Standard Telecaster provides you with more comfort during playing thanks to its 22 medium jumbo frets, a relatively flat 9.5-inch fretboard radius and a Bi-Flex truss rod system. This allows for a very low action without clattering or loss of strings. The comfortable hand-rolled fret edges have of course been maintained on this guitar, but the vintage-style ash tray bridge has made room for a modern version with six adjustable Strat-type saddles for optimal intonation. The bridge is attached to the body with no fewer than 5 screws, creating an even better transference to the lightweight alder body.
