The Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay (DBD) is an authentic-sounding digital/analogue delay with a fully-analogue signal path. It was inspired by vintage tape pedals, which is why its development incorporates both digital and analogue technology. Because the delays are generated digitally, Mad Professor was able to keep this pedal as compact as possible. Another advantage of its digital delay circuitry is that it's virtually maintenance-free compared to analogue systems.

Digital comfort, analogue sound

The delays go through a fully-analogue process, which is what gives the Deep Blue Delay its vintage sound. An enormous amount of attention was paid to emulating an authentic echo, and because this pedal is not equipped with noise-reduction circuitry, the decay sounds as natural as possible. A big advantage of this delay is that it can be inserted anywhere in your signal chain. Regardless of how the DBD is connected - via an effects loop, an amp input or before or after a distortion pedal - the delay effect remains musical and flexible.

With labels such as Level, Repeat and Delay, the white controls on this pedal don't really need further explanation. Bear in mind, this is not the type of digital delay pedal where the number of repetitions and delay time can be adjusted to the millisecond.
