The Slö stompbox by Walrus Audio adds modulation to long reverb tails and dreamy ambience to the overall guitar sound. First, select one of three reverb types: Rise is a swelling wave of sound, Dark adds depth with a lower octave and Dream mists your tone with a vibrato-effect. Next, choose one of three responsive modulation waveforms to accent the dynamics of the reverb. The classic, uniform and round waveform is found in Sine mode. Warp mode gives the texture of warn vinyl and the wobble of ancient tape and in the Sink setting, you get a Bigsby-style, deep tone bend.
The Slö: A Tangible Dream for Ambient Guitarists
Using the five potentiometers mounted on the face of this true-bypass Walrus Audio pedal, you can dial in the intensity and finish of your tone. The Depth pot manages the intensity while the Decay determines the length of the reverb tail. The Filter pot is literally a high-pass filter to shave off a little of the lower frequencies and the Mix pot balances the wet and dry signals. The X pot controls the parameters individual to each reverb type so, when set to Dream, X alters the vibrato. When set to Rise, it controls the size of the swell, and in Dark, X adjusts the visibility of the added lower octave. What really slows things down is the Sustain footswitch. Hit it once and you'll get synth-like notes and chords that are infinite. Hit it once more and the effect will die off slowly.

Meditatie pedaal. Hiermee kan je uren alleen op je kamer dromerige of zelfs heel donkere reverbs creeren. Zoek je een meer gewoon reverb pedaal koop dan de Fathom of de R1.
Heel fijn pedaaltje met zeer veel mogelijkheden voor zowel gitaar als synths om een dromerige, gelaagde sound neer te leggen.

Omdat ik niet alleen trage, dromerige klanken uit dit pedaal wil halen, is het best wat zoeken. Er zijn veel mogelijkheden, en niet altijd is die tocht even voor de hand liggend. Maar ben je eenmaal vertrokken, die zoektocht is ook best openbarend, dan kan je er gemeen mee rocken ook. Kan dus best behoorlijk veel en AW staat op eenzame hoogte betreffende uitstraling. Alleen zou de onderkant mogen voorzien worden van iets als de Boss- pedaaltjes, zodat de Slö nog langer mooier blijft, want dat is ie zeker.
Ik combineer met de Julia, een aanrader.

valt te vergelijken met strymon reverb maar dan wat goedkoper.
gebruiksgemak is wel wat moeilijker om uit te zoeken maar op de site van walrus audio kan je nederlandstalige handleiding downloaden. wat ik wel jammer vind is dat dit pedaal niet eindeloos kan door gaan daarvoor moet je de sustain knop blijven indrukken. kan vervelend zijn als je het geluid wil laten door klinken en al een ander pedaal wil activeren. dit pedaal is niet vergelijkbaar met de ehx cathedral voor de mensen die twijfelen.
Onwijs sferisch reverb met veel mogelijkheden. Vooral de sustain knop is fantastisch voor intro's en outro's. Verder is het formaat ook heel prettig. Soms zijn reverb pedalen (zoals die van EHX) net wat groter. Deze paste nog gemakkelijk op mijn pedaltrain erbij.
