In 2014, Gretsch Drums' legendary Broadkaster drum kits were treated to a modern update. In addition to shell sets with various builds and finishes, the series offers matching snare drums. This Broadkaster Standard Build 14 x 6.5-inch Antique Pearl snare is the ultimate match for the shell set with the same beautiful finish. The snare drum shell consists of two plies of maple and a single ply of poplar, ensuring a warm, full sound.

The shell of the Broadkaster 14 x 6.5-inch Antique Pearl snare drum has a 30-degree bearing edge that is angled toward the interior - a technique that ensures a wide tonal range and maximises attack and projection. The 3-ply hybrid shell is reinforced by means of an interior-ply scarf joint. The 3mm-thick 302 double-flanged hoops of the snare are nearly identical to the Stick Chopper hoops from the 1950s, but are made from a more rugged type of steel, resulting in a more open sound than a die-cast hoop would deliver. Additionally, the 302 hoops add more ambient overtones to the overall sound of the snare.

Broadkaster Standard Build snare drums are defined by a characteristic combination of authentic looks and modern elements, such as hardware. This 14 x 6.5-inch snare is equipped with eight Gretsch Standard lugs and a Gretsch Lightning throw-off. The interior of the shell is fitted with a redesigned, numbered label, while the exterior is adorned with the familiar copper Gretsch USA Round Badge. The beautiful Antique Pearl snare is supplied with a Remo Coated Ambassador batter head and a Remo Ambassador Hazy resonant head.
