Every metal drummer knows who Matt Halpern: the guy whose arms able to swing any super-technical parts into a groove with effortless ease. Together with bassist and producer Adam 'Nolly' Getgood, the Periphery-drummer has successfully shaped a unique sound, so it only makes sense that after his signature cymbal stack Halpern now gets his own Pearl Signature snare.

Dynamics are incredibly important in djent, so to play it you need a snare drum that sounds spot-on when it comes to both whispering ghostnotes and full-force rim shots. For that reason, Pearl have made this model using 1.5mm thick brass. This specific type of metal guarantees bright sound, loads of attack and clear projection, making every no sonic detail will ever go unheard. To dry up the sound a little, three ventilation holes have been cut out and finished with black-and-yellow detailing - the combination of colours used in the Periphery III album cover art. As if all of that wasn't enough, the snare has been equipped with Pearl's own MasterCast hoops, an Evans Heavyweight Dry batter head, plus a black-powder-coated STL150 ClipLock Snare Strainer and matching Swivel tube lugs.
