Maple is often used for drum shells because of its warm, rich sound - a sound that is readily apparent in the Tama DMP1465 Soundworks 14 x 6.5" Maple snare drum with its 5mm-thick 6-ply shell. That rich sound is further emphasises by the 2.3mm-thick steel Sound Arc Hoops with 10 holes, as well as the precision-cut bearing edges, which allow for potimal resonance. Finally, as for its finish, Tama chose to show off the maple's natural beauty and wood grain, and embellish it with chrome-plated hardware.

Soundworks snare drums
