Since he's one of the most famous jazz drummers in the world right now, it's no wonder Tama reached out to none other than Peter Erskine to collaborate on the design of the Peter Erskine Jazz Snare. This 14 x 5.5-inch model features a hybrid build including four layers of spruce and two layers of maple - a combination that's guaranteed to deliver extremely focussed sound with the help of a Sound Focus Ring that's been specially fitted below the batter head. Thanks to its relatively shallow shell, the snare is awesomely responsive whether you're playing softly or beating out rhythms at full force, making sure even the most subtle playing dynamics aren't washed out in the overall sound. Meanwhile, the Sound Arc Hoop turns tuning up into child's play, and there's a Linear-Drive Strainer that keeps all twenty strands of the Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare wires firmly in place. Finished with Remo Ambassador Series drumheads.
