This is the H8E version (518-542 MHz) of the Shure P3TR in-ear monitoring system. The P3TR is a part of the Shure PSM 300 series and consists of a transmitter and a receiver - headphones are not included, so you don't pay for them when you already own customised earphones, for instance. This set contains several accessories, such as rack mounts, a power adapter, AA batteries and a BNC cable.

When in mixed-mono mode, you can, for instance, receive a separate signal for an instrument and vocals. The performer can fine-tune the balance between these two.
