Descrizione
Waldorf's STVC is a powerful string synthesizer with a vocoder. It also has a solo section with a 16-voice synth and built-in effects. The string section features an oscillator bank with octave dividers and has a complex mixer, an equalizer and an ensemble effect, just like string machines from the '70s. Mixer and EQ settings for strings, brass, organ and more can all be easily controlled using the registration knob.
Vocoder and solo section
A high-quality gooseneck microphone is included for the vocoder and can be used for speech or singing, which can then be manipulated in all sorts of ways. The solo section is primarily designed to complement the strings, but is powerful enough to be used on its own as well. It's easily controlled using the dedicated tone knob. There are three on-board effects as well and they can be used simultaneously. Animate modulates the string or vocoder sections and there are phaser and reverb effects too.

Ik was eerst wat sceptisch, maar wat een geweldige sound heeft deze synth. Retro, maar alleszins bruikbaar en makkelijk in te passen in de mix. Vocoder is met wat oefening superieur aan bv de Behringer (goed blijven articuleren). En die freeze functie is geweldig, en deels ook via de modmatrix aan te sturen. Bouwkwaliteit is prima. Ietsje duurder dan de string machine van de Duitse shameless copycats, maar dat is het zeker waard. Dikke aanrader!
