For the more spiritually conscious percussionist, Terré presents an entire range of Shaman Drums. The Thunderbird drum features an Indonesian mahogany frame fitted with a real goat hide head, promoting an immediately warm and resonant response. The drumhead has also been finished with a graphic inspired by Native American art and representing the powerful mythological figure of the Thunderbird, which not only stands for power, but protection and intuition. The same kind of frame drum was played by shamans thousands of years ago to connect with the rhythm of the life-force: the cycle of day and night, the ebb and flow of the seas, and the changing of the seasons, all to help the spirit take a step back from the self and gain a deeper awareness of how everything is connected by rhythm and change.
