The EVH Iconic Series 5150 EL34 amplifier head puts a British spin on the sound of the original 5150. This two-channel, 80-Watt head keeps things affordable and features an ever-practical, built-in attenuator so you can drop the output down to just 20 Watts when you're playing on smaller stages. Armed with matched EL34 power amp valves and a pair of JJ ECC83S (12AX7) preamp valves, this EVH-designed unit effortlessly shapes that sought-after brown sound.

The first channel delivers warm-and-clear cleans that boosted via the fitted Overdrive button, while the second channel is home to classic distorted sound that can be pushed to the limit by firing up the Burn mode. Both channels feature their own volume control, and so you can boost your solos, EVH has thoughtfully mounted a Boost pot that gives you up to 10dB worth of additional gain. For smooth switching between settings, they also include a footswitch as standard.

Besides a global 3-band EQ and a noise gate control to tighten up the distortion channel, the EVH 5150 EL34 Head features resonance and presence pots as well as a built-in reverb and effects loop, giving you everything you need to sculpt perfect tone. So you can capture every last bit of the sonic warmth of the EL34 valves, you even get a speaker-emulated XLR output to boot, plus a pre-output for a thru-link to another power amp.
