The Revv Amplification D20 is the very first amp of its kind. This tube-driven-top comes with Two Notes Torpedo built-in as standard and gives you access to an optional reactive load so that all its authentic tone and playability can be enjoyed without having to hook up a speaker cabinet. Besides this, the virtual cab emulation means that the D20 can be used for direct recording, silent rehearsals via the headphone output, or for live shows without needing a mic. Via MIDI, up to 128 Torpedo presets can be called up to complete this chunk of pure Canadian-made pride.
The D20: Accurate Cleans to Delicious Crunch
Besides all of the ultra-modern details, the Revv D20 is also a simple standalone guitar amplifier. Inside the clean aluminium lunchbox-style housing lurk a pair of 6V6 power amp tubes and a pair of 12AX7 preamp tubes and an efficient attenuator able to dial the 20 Watt output capacity back to 4 Watts, while maintaining that full and lush tube-flavour at lower volumes. The D20 is undeniably made for those looking for pure, dynamic cleans that can be nudged over into a delicious crunch while, round the back, a buffered FX loop is included for adding your own board of effects.

Dit is echt wel een product "as advertised". Een lichte lunchbox gitaar versterker met een zeer goede clean sound en met net voldoende tube drive om op zichzelf te staan. Ik heb er een paar pedalen op gebruikt (overdrive/distortion op de input) en ben ook daar zeer tevreden van. Bruikbaar in de woonkamer en voldoende luid voor het podium (al heb ik dat laatste niet effectief geprobeerd). Wil je in de slaapkamer dan kan dat ook met de hoofdtelefoon. Wil je opnemen... je hebt zelf geen cab meer nodig. De two notes met zijn cab simulaties die erin zit en de "balanced out" geven echt een goed resultaat... beter dan de naar cab omgebouwde fender die ik zelf gebruik.
Pro's:
- Eigenlijk geen cab meer nodig: geïntegreerde two notes loadbox en de balanced out
- Van podium tot slaapkamer (of toch minstens woonkamer)
- Zeer goede sound (zelf met mijn mindere cab)
- super licht
Con's:
- misschien iets te lichte behuizing... mijn exemplaar kwam aan met een deuk
- leesbaarheid opschriften... ik moet mijn leesbril op: tekst boven de knopjes en iets meer contrast... maar, het zijn meer een paar dingen om te onthouden
