Mahogany is known for its warm, rich foundation sound and Kala take that one step further even by giving the KA-SMHC concert ukulele an all-solid mahogany construction for more volume and better overall sound. Complemented by the luxurious look of a faux tortoise-shell binding, a thin satin-gloss finish enhances the natural look of the wood, resulting in a remarkably tasteful Kala uke.
Solid Mahogany Series
The Solid Mahogany Series is a respected part of the Kala ukulele family. In addition to boosting resonance, all-solid instruments tend to sound increasingly better with age and the more you play them, the richer the tone gets. Très belle résonance à mon goût, et une finition impeccable.
Peut-être juste une légère faiblesse au niveau mécaniques, a confirmer dans le temps.
Une remarque : Attention, pour moi qui arrive de la guitare, le frettes sont assez basses : il faut vraiment bien appuyer. Cest une habitude quon perd avec les frettes de plus en plus jumbo sur les plus gros instruments.
La cerise sur le gâteau a été la découverte de la « housse »... Personnellement, jappellerais plutot ça une boîte ! Excellente qualité, très rigide. Je reste à assez stupéfait dun tel accessoire pour le prix global...
Au final : je suis ravi de mon choix.
