The high-grade build quality of the Ohana CK-35GCE electro-acoustic concert ukulele is made for gigging players. The body of this 19-fret uke has been made entirely from solid mahogany finished with a soft cutaway, mounted with a rosewood fretboard and bridge, and a bone string saddle and nut, before being coated in high-gloss and decorated with a pearloid inlay. An under-saddle pickup and an equaliser form the electronics section of this electro-acoustic instrument and ensure that the bright and open sound provided by the mahogany, rosewood, and hardware is accurately registered and reproduced. A set of Deluxe Geared machine heads have been fitted for superior tuning stability, and pre-installed Aquila strings provide supple playability, straight out of the box.
The Ukulele
In 1879, Portuguese immigrants introduced Hawaii to the original incarnation of the ukulele. While the instrument has since become a national symbol for Hawaii, its popularity in other countries boomed between the first and second World Wars, especially in the USA. The ukulele is an icon of the Jazz Age of the 1920s, when chord books and tablature of the popular songs of the time were published, opening the ukulele up to amateur musicians as well as professionals. Although Rock'n'Roll came and replaced the ukulele with the electric guitar, this incredibly manageable, portable, and relatively inexpensive instrument made a massive comeback in the '90s and has stuck around ever since.

het instrument is niet zo mooi als bijv. fender of ibanez (inlay's zijn simpel, parel is m.i. geen echte parel), maar is wel netjes afgewerkt en de fret's zitten echt stevig in de fretboard (op ibanez zijn ze gewoon daarop gelijmd), en het geluid en sustain zijn fantastisch dankzij all-solid wood constructie (uberhaupt geen laminaat in dit model!);
ben onder indruk van Ohana merk, wel een aanrader voor all-solid-wood models i.i.g.
