Rather than setting it on your lap or a cushion, pull maximum resonance our of your expensive handpan or tongue drum by mounting it on a stand. While you could re-purpose a normal snare stand, the basket is simply not built for the unique shape of your instrument, and is just not reliable enough - Meinl change things up with the purpose-designed Meinl HPS-S handpan stand.

The Meinl HPS Handpan/Tongue Drum Stand

The height is fully adjustable and can be set at a minimum of 55cm or a maximum of 70cm, so you play either seated on the ground or on a stool as preferred. And, just in case, Meinl have even made a taller version of the HPS stand available if you'd rather play standing. To accommodate toungue drums as well as handpans, the basket contacts have been finished with special slots for storing your beaters when you're not using them. The basket can be adjustable for optimum positioning and can even be slightly tilted, while the set of three double-braced legs provide a solid, stable base.
