Justin Meldal-Johnsen is known as the bass player for Beck and Nine Inch Nails, and has worked with artists such as Paramore, Jimmy Eat World and Macy Gray. This Fender Mustang Signature Bass was modelled after his personal favourite; an offset shortscale from 1967. This Signature Edition in classic black has a vintage Road Worn finish to make it look as though it's been put through the ringer!
Justin Meldal-Johnsen Mustang Bass: Punchy, Comfortable, Reliable
The single Seymour Duncan custom split single-coil pickup is what gives this bass a punchy variation of the balanced acoustic sound of the Fender Mustang RW. It has an alder body and a bolt-on C-profile maple neck, as well as a fixed, 4-saddle bridge and a string-through-body construction. This bass boasts great sustain and a stable tone, especially in combination with the vintage-style machine heads. With this Fender offset, you've got a familiar-feeling 9.5-inch fretboard radius and a short 30-inch scale length at your fingertips. The string tension is therefore a little lower and the frets are closer together, which make this instrument particularly comfortable to play. The Fender Road Worn Bass is suitable for bassists who want to make a statement in terms of looks, as well as sound.

- La basse n'est pas blindée, se préparer à bricoler ou aller chez le luthier ce qui est quand-même très dommage pour un instrument de ce prix d'avoir un grésillement terrible quand on la branche.
- Électronique cheap (y compris le micro même s'il sonne bien), composants chinois
- Relicage moyen et pas très réaliste. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi Fender ne se contente pas d'un vernis nitro avec une légère patine plutôt que de faire des marques d'usure improbables.
-Coulures à l'arrière du manche (comme si on l'avait trempé à moitié dans une cuve de vernis)
Au final un chouette instrument qui sonne bien mais trop cher quand-même (surtout pour à peu près le même prix qu'une US).
Fantastisch diepe sound, speelt lekkerder dan welke Mexicaanse Fender dan ook. De afwerking is ontzettend goed. Echt voor geeks en fans van een vintage hals en nitro lak. Daarnaast wordt hij heel compleet geleverd, namelijk met degelijke softcase en vervangende zwarte slagplaat, zodat je er ook een '70s look Mustang van kan maken. Topbas.
Ik raad wel aan om de standaard flatwounds die er op zitten direct te vervangen door een kwaliteitssetje, bijvoorbeeld LaBella's.

Vintage 60s spec mustang short scale bass with an nitro finish that will age over time. 30” scale compared to the standard 34” feels much more like a regular electric guitar to play. Great tight, full fat chunky sound with a rounded comfortable neck make this a joy to play.
