With this American Special Telecaster, Fender has developed a guitar that possesses all the classic, legendary Telecaster characteristics, namely that bright, direct sound that made Telecaster a household name. With this guitar, Fender has gone with a more modern version by incorporating a contemporary 'C'-shaped maple neck. It's also equipped with Texas Special pickups for a bright edge and a wider range of mid tones. What also adds to this guitar's fame is the body's 'Lake Placid' finish, making it a truly graceful and timeless instrument.
Fender American Special Telecaster: improved circuitry
Remarkably, Fender has decided to upgrade the circuitry of their guitars, in this case with the Greasebucket Tone circuit. This innovative circuitry naturally filters out high tones adds bass to deliver a cleaner tone.
Combining the old with the new
The messing bridge saddles, which are present in all classic Fender models, accentuate the time-honoured feel of these guitars. Instead of a bridge saddle for every snare, these bridge saddles are spread out over six snares. It also has a three-layer pickguard in light mint green. The pickup selector consists of the renowned 3-position switch that allows you to activate the bridge, the bridge plus neck, or just the neck pickup. Alder, which is often used for glossy lacquered guitars, is also used for this particular model. Ash is often used for unpainted guitars, because of the wood's beautiful natural grains.

Wist dat ik voor een telecaster zou gaan. Het idee was om er een paar van de american professional serie uit te proberen. Heb de american professionals uitgeprobeerd eentje met singel coils en een met shawbuckers (lees humbuckers) Vwb de single coil bleek deze american special absoluut beter te klinken dan de american professional. de Texas Special elementen klinken veel helderder dan de V-mod pick-ups
Bij het op schoot nemen van dit mooie blauwe exemplaar en na het spelen van het eerste akkoord was ik verkocht. Leuke bijkomstigheid is dat je dan ook al gauw 5 tot 6 honderd Euro goedkoper uit bent. Vind 1000 voor een gitaar meer dan genoeg. Helaas krijg je er geen koffer bij!

Heb deze gitaar sinds juni bevalt me erg goed.
Ligt lekker in de hand en heeft een mooie klank.

Superbe, tant au niveau du look que du son, la qualité de jeu est incroyable. Le manche est hyper agréable. J'ai toujours joué sur SG, dans un style plutôt alternatif, mais la Telecaster apporte un son nettement plus précis, plus net. J'ai amélioré mon jeu avec cette guitare. Quelques problèmes, qu'on retrouve sur beaucoup de Fender : le petit manche plastique du selecteur de micro ne tient plus, et l'entrée jack se dévisse.
