Ibanez RGRT421 Weathered Black electric guitar
Descrizione
Attention rock and metal guitarists! The RGRT421 by Ibanez is an attractively-priced electric guitar with a neck-through design and a fixed string-through bridge which means outstanding comfort and sustain. The matte black finish on the body and the reversed headstock give this guitar a seriously cool look. It's suitable for players of all levels.
RGRT421: wood types and sound
The RGRT421's mahogany body and 5-piece maple/walnut neck combine to produce a warm and direct sound. The neck has Ibanez' thin, fast, Wizard III profile and there are 24 jumbo frets on the jatoba fretboard. Two passive Quantum humbucker pickups with ceramic magnetic cores ensure an excellent amplified sound. The volume and tone control knobs along with the 5-way pickup switch allow you to tweak your sound to perfection.

At the moment, this guitar's near-outperforming a £900 one I already possess (no exaggeration, although I'm aware a 30 watt amp might be mismatched with the aforementioned pricey piece).
It's extremely light, like carbon fiber, feels almost hollow. Played through a Spider amp, everything is complimentary, even occasional residual noise mostly harmonic and pleasing to the ear (!)
The one slightly odd thing is the volume control placement. Palm muting will have to be adapted for the highest string. This may not be necessary though. It's only been 3 days so I'm still realizing the guitar's sonic capabilities.
The finish is matte, more subtle than on the pics. I would say approximately 5 times more gorgeous.
I'd advise experimenting / changing amp setting with each of the 5-way selector sounds. Each is a unique animal. Some do appear marginally louder than others.
