The Yamaha Red Label FSX5 comes from a long line of expertly crafted guitars, including some of the most iconic models that the Japanese brand has ever built. This professional electro-acoustic guitar has an all-solid construction where the soundboard has been cut out of Sitka spruce and the back and sides have been hewn from mahogany. Thanks to Yamaha's Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E) technology, this sublime six-string sounds warm and fully matured, like it's already seen two decades of action. The ebony fretboard and bone nut add clarity and fullness to every note, while the high-gloss finish - based on classic FG Red Label models from the 1960s - adds a retro touch to an otherwise cutting-edge build. As you'd expect, this first-class guitar comes wrapped up in its own hard case.

Three-Way Atmosfeel Pickup System

Yamaha has fitted out the concert-bodied FSX5 with the unique Atmosfeel system, putting a piezo pickup at the bridge that captures the low frequencies, while an integrated microphone captures the low and mid-range frequencies, and a special transducer registers the trebles. The result is fully natural, full-range sound that can be effortlessly adjusted via the mounted Microphone Blend control. Turn it clockwise all the way for a 50/50 mix of the microphone signal and the combined signal of the piezo pickup and transducer, or turn it anticlockwise all the way to mute the internal microphone signal completely. The microphone signal is particularly useful during solo performances and chord-work, while a lower microphone mix is better for finger-style guitarists and players in a band who need more mix-cutting power.
