Part of the FG-Series legend, this steel string boasts an excellent build, a solid soundboard, and a classic, luxurious finish. One of the most popular acoustic guitars produced within the past 50 years, this humble and affordable model is improved continuously and subjected to Yamaha's own strict level of quality control.

Bracing, Neck, Body & Binding

The FG820 is the natural evolution of the FG720, and one of the most striking enhancements lies in the scalloped bracing beneath the soundboard. This seemingly minor tweak is exactly what shapes the resonance and here, combines with the solid soundboard to give the bass and mid-range more pronounced projection and a powerful acoustic sound. The neck has also been further refined with a slimmer shape and more rounded fretboard edges, leading to elevated playing comfort, and when compared to the slightly cheaper FG800, the FG820 has the stronger, warmer sound provided by a mahogany back and sides (instead of nato) that have been sealed with cream binding.
