Descrizione
The Electro Harmonix Soul Preacher is a compact compressor with variable parameters, which allows you to make both subtle and extreme adjustments to the dynamics or your playing. Your playing determines how much is required of the effect, as well as the eventual output.
Attack
An attack switch with three different options allows you to change the timing of the onset of compression.
- Fast attack: results in an aggressive hit with a response of approximately 20 ms.
- Medium attack: produces a slower response of about 50 ms for a smooth and defined sound.
- Slow attack: produces a soft, mellow result with a 100ms response.
Real compression
Many compressors have a lot of make-up gain and produce annoying, amplified noise. The EHX Soul Preacher, however, keeps your sound cleaner thanks to its novel circuitry. As such, you're able to enjoy pure compression, which benefits your overall sound significantly.

Deze in aanloop tot de toekomstige aankoop van de MXR Bass Compressor gekocht. Ben er gematigd positief over, doet goed zijn werk op bepaalde punten maar is toch niet de ideale compressor voor basgitaar. Bij eerste gebruik veel vervorming totdat ik de trimpot in de compressor ietswat terug draaide. Nu redelijk tevreden over maar niet zo perfect als de MXR Compressor.
Helmaal geweldig, behalve supersnel in huis, ook een geweldige compressor-sustainer:
Alsof je je bascombo op een bed legt, een dikke deken erover heen; en het geluid komt onder bij het bed vandaan... Helemaal tof, ook de instelbare attack! En de sustain is zo goed dat het (met de sustain helemaal open) lijkt op rondzingen... Ik ben dik tevreden!

Werkt perfect zonder ruis bij matige level settings, feitelijk zoals het hoort bij een compressor. Bij overdreven levels verlies je te veel dynamiek. Wat me ook opvalt is dat bij gebruik van een wireless systeem (in mijn geval de Line 6 G50) dit ook een soort noise reduction oplevert !
