Meinl's MCC1134NT Marathon Classic conga is an attractively priced instrument made of rubberwood, for a rich conga sound. With its 30-inch-deep shell and a drumhead diameter of 11.75 inches, this conga is the middle sibling in the Marathon Classic series. It features a drumhead made of top-quality buffalo hide for a natural playing feel. Additionally, it has 3mm-thick rims that have been rounded to prevent injuries and enhance playing comfort. All in all, it's a high-quality conga for a reasonable price.
Good choice
The MCC1134NT features a glossy natural finish with some nice contrast added by a black rim and black hardware. The 8mm-thick lugs provide enhanced durability. Furthermore, Meinl provides an 11-inch MC11NT quinto in the same series, which complements this conga very nicely. This instrument is a great choice for both enthusiastic beginners and advanced players.
