Straight out of Finland, Darkglass drop the Alpha·Omega Φoton: a fresh, intense distortion effects pedal based on the iconic circuits of the Alpha·Omega with a fat stack of extra options on top. The core of this stompbox is made up of three mode switches, which are Alpha for compression, Omega for distortion and Photon for cabinet simulation. Here, each mode opens up five options as well as true bypass, handing bassists full control over every part of their sound!
The Alpha Omega Photon: Smooth Ease of Use
Along with five pots to dial in the basics (compression, drive, distortion, blend and level), the Alpha·Omega Photon provides a 6-band graphic equalizer equipped with touch-sensitive sliders for more scrupulous tweaks while, for seamless rig integration, Darkglass have furnished the distortion unit with standard jack ports, an XLR port, a MIDI input and Bluetooth. Last but not least, there's a USB-C port that lets the Alpha·Omega Photon double-up as an audio interface. In short: everything you need wrapped up in a single top-shelf stompbox.

Ongelooflijk gaaf pedaal. Alleen maar lof !! Verkoop tenminste vier pedalen en koop deze ervoor terug, want dit pedaal geeft je een tuner, compressor, direct out, en echt een megavette distortion. Tja en niet te vergeten: de fantastische equalizer !!
Midi en bluetooth heb ik nog niet geprobeerd. Er valt nog wel wat voor me te ontdekken.
Handig om te weten: dit pedaal is gek genoeg ontzettend makkelijk in gebruik, ondanks de enorm vele functies die het heeft
1 nadeel die ik tot nu toe ontdekt heb: Als je wilt wisselen tussen je presets, kost het het pedaal een 'halve' seconde om te wisselen, dus voor mij voelt het alsof ik gedwongen ben een 16'de voor de nieuwe '1' al op de knop te drukken zodat de wissel soepel verloopt. Dus als je het pedaal wilt kopen voor het makkelijk wisselen van de presets, dan weet ik eigenlijk niet zo goed of ik deze kan aanraden. Ikzelf gebruik een Lehle switch pedaal, en gebruik alleen m'n favourite distortion preset. Het 'eerder' intrappen is misschien ook een kwestie van gewenning.
Wat de meeste distortion pedalen hebben, is een belachelijke hoeveel ruis die het pedaal meegeeft als je de distortion aanzet. Bij dit pedaal totaal niet !!
Desondanks een klein preset-laden-nadeel, is na lang zoeken dit pedaal precies wat ik zocht!
