The result of Tech 21's 30 years of expertise, the SansAmp XB Driver combines a clean and drive channel with a three-band EQ section and compression, completing a flexible bass preamp that supports a full spectrum of sonic profiles. Both channels feature 100% analogue signal paths and everything is toggled hands-free via three solid footswitches.

The Tech 21 SansAmp XB Driver: Balanced Mids, Optimal Compression and Just Enough Flavour

Both channels have been kitted out with independent treble, mid and bass controls, where you get two control pots for balancing the mids and matching the frequencies to your playing style. Over in the Clean section, the built-in compression can be applied to tighten everything up while, over in the Drive section, the Drive pot can be used to add some extra flavour to your bass sound.

Sonic Weight and Plenty of Drive

To enhance the higher-frequencies, simply hit the Bite button and, using the Mix footswitch on the right, the Clean and Drive channels can either be engaged separately or blended. To make sure that the channels fully compliment each other when in crossover mode, simply tweak the high-pass filter of the Drive section and the low-pass filter of the Clean section to give your bass sound enough low-end weight and give the high-end some punch. For easy pedalboard integration, this Tech 21 offering comes complete with an 18 Volt DC power supply as standard.
