Improving on the much-loved ODR-1, Nobels unleash the ODR-1BC. This natural overdrive pedal now comes fitted with a Bass Cut Switch for damping and stamping out the low-end, and besides running at a standard 9 Volts, this stompbox now boasts an 18 Volt capacity for a considerable boost to the dynamic range and output. The overdrive is dialled in via the straightforward set-up of a Drive, Spectrum, and Level pot. Drive takes care of the distortion amount and ranges from close-to-squeaky-clean to all out thick distortion, and the Spectrum pot influences the colour of the drive by tweaking the bass and treble, keeping the mid-range frequencies consistent so that as transparent and warm a sound as possible is delivered to your amp.

Goede dynamische en veelzijdige overdrive. Combineert ook goed met andere overdrives ("stacking")

The best kept secret in Nashville. Great natural sounding overdrive, ranging from subtle break-up to full on distortion. Perfect marriage with my Telecaster and Pro Junior. Sorry I didn’t discover this pedal 30 years earlier!
Ik kwam dit pedaal eigenlijk een beetje per toeval tegen op het welbekende videoplatform. Ik was gecharmeerd door het volle, warme geluid en de afwezigheid van een uitgesproken 'mid-hump'. Hij mag dan wel groen zijn maar dit is dus geen tubescreamer. Dat is even wennen als je hem voor het eerst inplugt. De spectrum knop regelt de hoeveelheid lage mids en treble, ook weer anders dan je misschien gewend bent.
Al met al een bijzonder goede overdrive voor combo versterkers en gitaren met single coils, in mijn geval een Peavey Classic 30 en een Telecaster. Werkt ook goed voor een Gretsch met Filtertrons.
Eindelijk een pedaal die mijn versterker niet 'dichtsmeert' met te veel mids. De meeste populiar groene overdrive pedalen geven een mid-boost. prima voor versterkers die van zichzelf weinig mid hebben, maar mijn Peavey Classic 30 heeft dit wel.
De Nobels klinkt erg als mijn eigen versterker en de spectrum knop is echt fantastisch! Van warm naar erg helder zonder dat het pijn gaat doen. De Nobels is een aanrader voor elke versterker!
Het oversturingspedaal dat lijkt gemaakt te zijn voor de Telecaster! Niet voor niets is deze op bijna ieder pedalboard in Nashville te vinden!
Het pedaal geeft je geluid meer haar op de tanden zonder de klankkleur drastisch te veranderen. Als je niet beter zou weten zou je denken dat het alleen je versterker is die meer overstuurt. Als blonde stoppeltjes op vrouwenbenen: je voelt het wel, maar je ziet er niets van!
